Transforming a Troubled Ranch Home into a Stunning Showcase

This expansive ranch-style home originally featured a full-height brick wall over the porch on the right side which, unfortunately, lacked proper waterproofing. Due to the builder’s failure to correctly flash the wall, rainwater seeped through, causing significant water damage that resulted in leaks through the porch ceiling below.

To address this issue, our team executed a comprehensive reconstruction plan. We carefully demolished the problematic brick wall, ensuring the surrounding structure remained intact. Then, we sheathed the area with OSB and applied Tyvek Homewrap, creating a reliable moisture barrier that prevents future water infiltration.

To elevate both function and aesthetics, we rebuilt the wall with durable Hardie siding, incorporating a board and batten upper section to break up the imposing 26-foot vertical expanse. This design choice not only enhances curb appeal but also adds character and depth to the home’s exterior.

Now, instead of an awkward brick facade with hidden structural issues, the homeowners enjoy a beautifully crafted, weather-resistant exterior that combines both style and longevity. Another home revitalized, another problem solved!
